A Firm Reminder from the Qur’an.
Reminder from Qur’an:
Allah says:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
(Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:2)
⚠️ When we publicly showcase what Allah has forbidden, we risk cooperating in spreading falsehood, even if unintended.
Reject the evil, not just spread it.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue. If he cannot, then with his heart and that is the weakest of faith.” (Muslim)
➡️ To “share” evil without correction is not changing it.
➡️ To “platform” misguidance is not rejecting it.
But what about dialogue?
Yes, Islam allows respectful questions & discussions. Even the Sahabah asked about sensitive matters. But audience matters, not everything is suitable for social media & public consumption.
Imam al-Awza‘i (rahimahullah) said: “Whoever sits with people of innovation and falsehood will not be safe from their fitnah.”
⚠️ In our age, ideas are consumed like content.. for likes, for brand, for clout. This doesn’t clarify truth. It confuses it.
“We listen but we don’t judge?”
Let’s be clear:
❌ Judging individuals = not our job.
✅ Judging actions = our responsibility.
Allah has already passed judgment on actions through His divine guidance. What He declared harmful will remain harmful, no matter how much people dress it up to look good.
“They consider it insignificant, but with Allah it is great.” (Qur’an, 24:15)
The Right Approach.
Sharing misguidance without clarity = Spreading it.
Safe spaces for sincere questions?
✔️ Yes, but with knowledge & guidance.
Casual normalization of munkar?
❌ No.
The Prophet taught us not to follow others in normalizing wrong, but to uphold good consistently and resist conformity to falsehood. Heﷺ said : “Do not be a people without a will of your own… If people do good, do good; if they do wrong, do not follow them.” (Tirmidhi)
Your feed shapes your faith.
Repeated exposure breeds acceptance.
⚠️ Algorithms don’t care about your Iman,, but you should.
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“The heart becomes sick like the body does, and its cure is to protect it from harmful influences and feed it with beneficial knowledge and dhikr.”
Protect your heart. Protect your Iman.
The Duty.
Be compassionate. Be wise. Be firm on truth.
✨ Our duty is to uplift what is right, not to give space to falsehood.
