Masjid Al-Falah, as like other mosques in Singapore, is under the administration of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). It is the only mosque in Orchard Rd, serving its congregation hailing from a colourful background of various ethnicities.
The mosque was officially opened by then, the Minister for Environment and Minister-In-charge of Muslim Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Mattar on 25th January 1987. Masjid Al-Falah can be traced to the old Angulia Mosque at Angulia Park which currently houses Wheelock Place.
Masjid Al-Falah had her first facelift in the year 2008 with a better layout of classrooms and facilities. Al-Falah started to focus on Islamic knowledge in the English language and received encouraging responses from the congregation.
In 2015, Masjid Al-Falah was selected to undergo the Mosque Upgrading Programme (MUP) and had a major renovation. The mosque was given more space by the building owners, an extension of level 1, and doubled space for level 2. With this upgrade, it has increased the floor space by over 500sqm. It has become a rejuvenated mosque with additional extended prayer space and also improved washrooms and ablution areas. Our mosque has also become handicapped-friendly – barrier-free designs.
Other than the niche of youth-centric mosques, we also strive to become the next Harmony Center that welcomes everyone, Muslims and Non-Muslims.
