Many of us think Allah helps us only through the “big things.”
Tahajjud every night. Long fasts.
Finishing Qur’an repeatedly.
Big spiritual efforts.
All important. All beautiful.
But many forget what the Prophet ﷺ taught…
وَاللهُ فِي عَوْنِ العَبْدِ
مَا كَانَ العَبْدُ فِي عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ
“Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother.” (Muslim)
This means Allah helps you through the people who need your help.
Allah may help you not only through your worship… but through your compassion.
Even when you are in a position of advantage, comfort or stability… Allah may be helping you through the weak and the needy around you.
When you lift someone’s burden,
Allah lifts yours.
When you cover someone’s fault,
Allah covers yours.
When you relieve a hardship,
Allah relieves yours on the Day of Judgment.
We think they need us.
But in reality, we need them.
Their need becomes the doorway to Allah’s help and mercy.
This changes everything:
How we see privilege.
How we see struggle.
How we see each other.
May Allah help us see the weak as pathways to His mercy, and may He make us people who never turn away.
